Social worker in a counselling centre for convicts
Vilnius Archdiocese Caritas is one of the largest non-governmental organisations (religious community) working in the social field. Its activities are organised on the basis of the principles of the Catholic Church's social teaching.
The Convicts' Counselling Centre (hereafter "NKC") is one of the 14 units of Vilnius Archdiocesan Caritas. It works with prisoners in correctional institutions, ex-convicts and persons under probation supervision. The NKC provides social, legal and psychological counselling, representation, mediation and inter-institutional cooperation in the development and improvement of the reintegration of persons released from penitentiary institutions into society.

Nature of work
- To organise and provide individual social counselling in prisons and in the office (Didžioji g. 5, Vilnius) within the framework of the Procedures for the Social Integration of Persons Released from the Places of Imprisonment.
- To meet and escort persons released from prisons.
- To mediate between clients and other social service providers.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Social work education.
- Driving licence.
- Highly motivated to work with convicted persons.
- Ability to work in stressful situations and to solve problems promptly.
- Knowledge of clerical rules.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to plan and organise work independently.
